The lyceum was founded in 1992 as a gymnasium and now it is one of the most prominent educational centers in Moscow. As it provides secondary education of a very high level, thhe lyceum is listed among the 10  best schools in the city. The people who work here find it very important to support the traditions of academic education, encourage eagerness to acquire deep knowledge in sciences among their students, and explore the beauty of the world around.

The lyceum works in close cooperation with the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Education, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Moscow State Pedagogical University and a number national parks.

The teachers at the lyceum approach their students as grown-up people capable of conducting real scientific research on their own, which adds a lot to the development of their natural creativity. Every student at the lyceum has to carry out his (her) individual scientific research in the field of ecology, geology, geography, folklore, psychology, literature etc. every year and present to to a committee of experts.
