Was Born in 03.11.1986. Lomonosov Moscow State University undergraduate student, The Department of Chemistry, Research "Bioinformatic strategies for lipidomic analysis: application for medical diagnostics" in 2008 was presented on International Lomonosov Conference of students and graduates. Since 2007 works for system biology of lipids research group . His graduation work topic is "Influence of PPAR ligands on inflammation process". Took part in organisation of the "International Research School for Youth Moscow 2008".

I live in Sintra (Portugal), a village which Lord Byron considered to be the most beautiful in the world. I discovered my passion for the living world soon before starting studying Biology - I am now an undergraduate
student of Genetics & Molecular Biology in the Faculty of Sciences from University of Lisbon.It is inside a laboratory, between plasmids and eppendorf's, where I like tobe. I am a volunteer in Molecular Medicine Institute as lab assistant, and a scholar of Amadeu Dias Foundation/University of Lisbon for studying pine wilt disease - a pathology induced by a specific nematode in pine trees.
Despite my taste for Molecular Biology, I am essentially a Biology lover, and I spend some of my free time in other 'biological' activities. Indeed, since 2008 I am a tour guide both in Lisbon Zoological Garden and Lisbon Botanical Garden. Apart from scientific activities, my main interests are my friends and my family, gardening and reading, and volunteering with children.
Title of the Project: «Strategies in struggling with inflammatory diseases»
Base organization: Lomonosov Moscow State University
Annotation:
Inflammatory diseases include cardiovascular diseases, cancer, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer's and neurodegenerative diseases. Human genome decoding and other achievements of molecular biology, and IT development have allowed to approach a real prospect of overcoming many of these diseases.
The goal of the project is to introduce our students to contemporary concepts and methods used by scientists for exploring origins of human diseases, their diagnostics and treatment.
How are new drugs developed in the 21st century? What information do scientists obtain from observing incidence rate of population? What can be predicted after people's nutrition studying? What can be defined by human genetic polymorphism? How do we use biomedical databases? What can we derive from the decoded genome and what can we do with a «personal» genome? Answers to all these questions will be found by our students under tutor's guide, tutors are students of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, departments of chemistry and bioengineering & bioinformatics.
Methods: Students will have an opportunity to get an insight into modern methods of research at practical works on immunoenzyme assay and PCR and bioinformatical tasks.
Work plan: Students will be divided into groups for complex analysis of a global issue at their choice:
- medical, social and ethical aspects of research;
- bioinformatical research;
- diagnostic methods;
- drug design etc.
Each group will carry out its part of the work which is supposed to be finally combined into one project.
